How to install What The Peak apk for android
- For Android 4.0 or higher:Please to Settings, look down to Security, and select Unknown sources. Choosing this choice will enable to install apps download from the internet.
- For devices running on lower Android 4.0:
Please go to Settings - open the Applications option, and select Unknown sources, click OK on the popup alert.
What The Peak Details
This is a free augmented reality application leaning towards an offline source use case. This is particularly helpful especially when travelling through the mountains where there is no internet connection. Of course, the application will also work with online sources, particularly from GeoNames (http://www.geonames.org/) and from Natural Resources Canada GeoNames service (http://www.nrcan.gc.ca/home).Using the feature class codes (GeoNames.Org) and Concise Codes (NR Can), you can filter which feature you want to be displayed on your Android device. The App defaults to mountains and lakes. You can change them in the Settings page.
The offline feature of this App has been targeted to work primarily in Canada (default). Since GeoNames is one of the primary sources, to target this app to your place of interest, simply change the GeoNames zip file source setting. Visit the download directory to find the file that interests you (http://download.geonames.org/export/dump/).
