How to setup Vocal - Voice Dialer apk for android
- For Android 4.0 or higher:Please to Settings, look down to Security, and select Unknown sources. Choosing this choice will enable to install apps download from the internet.
- For devices running on lower Android 4.0:
Please go to Settings - open the Applications option, and select Unknown sources, click OK on the popup alert.
Vocal - Voice Dialer Details
This is a voice dialer application.There are many voice dialer applications in the market, but this one takes a different approach - it accepts a voice name of a contact, uses Google speech recognition service to get 5 text matches and use them to go through the telephone contact list and compare each contact name to the 5 matches.
It gives a score to each name based on matching letters, matching order of letters etc.
Then it displays the top score contact.
This way the hit rate is improved significantly.
The application user can use the 'next' button to see other top score contact names - one of them should be the correct name (in most cases the first displayed name is the correct one).
How to operate?
Press the 'find' button to get Google speech recognition service activated.
Say a contact name when prompted.
When a correct contact name is displayed, use the 'dial' button to call him/her.
The application was tested mostly with Hebrew and also with English, but should work OK with other languages.
The application is based on Phonegap ver. 1.4.1.
