EuroPride 2016 Details
The EuroPride 2016 Amsterdam app is now available for your phone. With this app you are able to have the complete EuroPride program offline available, you will receive the latest information and you will be able to rank the Canal Parade’s participants with the ranking system. JOIN our Freedom in Amsterdam from July 23rd till August 7th.With the motto ‘JOIN OUR FREEDOM’, we would like to call upon everybody to show how proud we are to live in freedom and to have the right to love who we want. We will celebrate that freedom, but at the same time continue the fight for equal rights in Europe until we have the right to be who we are, to have families, to lead full lives, and to develop the careers that we want – wherever we are – and until we are fully accepted and embraced with dignity by our families, neighbors, and colleagues, throughout Europe.
Since Amsterdam hosted the EuroPride in 1994, our festival has evolved into one of the biggest and best celebrations of its kind around the globe, attracting more than 500,000 participants and visitors to Amsterdam. This year’s event will last two weeks, from 23 July to 7 August, and will feature the Pink Saturday celebrations in the Vondelpark and the Pride Walk Parade on 23 July, a Human Rights concert on Dam Square on Sunday 24 July, and mind-blowing street parties and the world-famous Canal Parade in the closing weekend. There will also be plenty on offer in the field of sport, the arts, culture, film, and religion, and opportunities for debate during the two weeks of the festival.
